Bosch Rexroth to Consolidate Its Detroit Area Branch Offices

(Rochester Hills, MI — www.boschrexroth-us.com) Bosch Rexroth is consolidating its branch offices in the Detroit area, moving its 120 local employees into a 57,000-square-foot facility on Research Drive in Rochester Hills.

Employees from the company’s recently acquired Intelligent Hydraulic Drives™ (IHD™) unit will begin moving into the facility this month. Associates from the company’s Auburn Hills office will complete their relocation at the end of the year.

“We are extremely excited about the new potential this new facility offers,” said Berend Bracht, president and CEO of Bosch Rexroth Corporation. “We believe the automotive industry and our other industrial customers in the region will see tremendous benefits arising from the full range of services we will offer in close proximity.”

IHD, acquired from the Dana Corporation last year, specializes in the development, engineering, and integration of hydraulic hybrid components into motor vehicles.

Bosch Rexroth’s existing Auburn Hills facility houses competency centers for all four of the company’s industrial technology groups: Electric Drives and Controls, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Linear Motion and Assembly Technologies. It also serves as a regional sales center and hosts several global account management teams.

“I’m very pleased that Bosch Rexroth will be consolidating its technical center in the Rochester Hills SmartZoneTM,” said the city’s mayor, Bryan K. Barnett. “It retains an important company in one of the industries that we target and brings more high-paying jobs to the community.”

The Rochester Hills SmartZoneTM is one of 11 areas in the state creating clusters of companies in advanced manufacturing and high-technology industries. In 2006, the SmartZoneTM had 171 companies in its target industries, employing nearly 9,900 people.

Oakland County, where Rochester Hills is located, is one of the most prosperous communities in the United States. Rochester Hills houses R & D and engineering centers for both DaimlerChrysler and Volkswagen, whose headquarters are located in neighboring Auburn Hills, and is home to Oakland University and Rochester College.
Bosch Rexroth continues to establish strong ties with its Bosch parent company in the Michigan community. Nearby Farmington Hills is home to the Bosch North American automotive headquarters. In addition to its manufacturing facilities throughout the state, Bosch recently opened a new, energy-efficient Technical Center in Plymouth Township, furthering the expansion of its automotive capabilities in Michigan.

Bosch Rexroth AG, part of the Bosch Group, achieved sales of approximately $6.2 billion (4.9 billion Euro) in 2006 with over 29,800 employees. Under the brand name of Rexroth the company offers all drive and control technologies, from mechanics, hydraulics and pneumatics to electronics and associated service. Over 500,000 customers worldwide utilize Rexroth’s unique technological know-how to implement their innovative and future-oriented systems and machine concepts. The global player, represented in over 80 countries, is an extensive supplier of components and systems for industrial and factory automation and mobile applications.
