1. What CAD systems are supported by FMSsoft?
FMSsoft version 7.0 works with AutoCAD 2000 and higher. If you have version 6.4 and want to enable it to work with AutoCAD 2004 or 2005 contact FMSsupport for the patch. FMSsoft version 6.0 and higher requires AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, or 2002. FMSsoft will NOT work with AutoCAD LT. AutoCAD based products, such as Mechanical Desktop, will also work. Users of other CAD systems can use the drawings located on our website and on the FMSsoft CD. AutoCAD 14 and below are no longer supported.

2. When I try to move between packages in FMSsoft, it gives me the error: You must add the "MGEsoft, MASsoft or TSsoft" directory to your Support File Search Path. How do I do this?
The reason this happens is because AutoCAD does not know were to find the files for an FMSsoft package other than one you just opened. To solve this, go to the options menu by either typing "options" on the command line or by selecting Tools > Options. Highlight the files tab and then click the + symbol next to Support File Search Path. Click Add then Browse. Navigate to the folder for the FMSsoft package that you would like to be able to switch to. It is a good idea to add all 3. They are normally located under your AutoCAD directory.

3. I ran the installation but nothing appears to have changed. Where are new icons or shortcuts?
During the installation, you will be prompted for the path to AutoCAD directory on your computer. If this directory is not selected correctly, the installation will not find the AutoCAD executable and the shortcuts will not be created. To fix this, uninstall and then reinstall FMSsoft. This time select the correct AutoCAD directory.

4. Is there an easy way to import my parts list into Excel?
Yes. When creating a parts list, select CDF under format. This will save a comma delimited file to the path located at the bottom of the PList screen. This file can then be opened in Excel. For more complete instructions, see the MGEsoft Step-By-Step tutorial or Reference Guide.

5. My drawing is filled by blue squares and crosses. How do I get rid of them?
These are node points. To make them smaller click on Format > Point Size. Select "Set size in absolute units" and click OK. This should reduce the size of the nodes but they should still be visible for snapping.

6. When I run MGEsoft, all of my previous settings are gone. How do I get them back?
FMSsoft created a new profile that doesn't contain your previous settings. Those are stored in the <> profile. To get these settings in the MGEsoft profile you will need to delete the MGEsoft profile first. Then export the <> to a file. This file can then be imported back in as the MGEsoft profile name. Refer to your AutoCAD documentation for more information on exporting and importing profiles. |
